Wilma Jean Leighty Hawkins Gross, 76 of Morgantown passed away Sunday March 28, 2010 at Golden Living Center where she resided the past 3 years. She was born May 12, 1933 in Cassville, WV a daughter to the late Jesse Carl Leighty and Maude Elizabeth Ricewick Leighty. She later resided in Chaplin, Hagans, and Morgantown. She enjoyed singing, playing guitar and piano as well as attending and participating in church activities. Faith and family were very important to her. She is survived by her husband Charles O. Gross of Morgantown; three sons Larry W. Hawkins and wife Linda of Akron, OH, Jesse R. Hawkins and wife Sandy of Morgantown, and John L. Hawkins and wife Angie of Vermillion, OH; and a daughter Carrie E. Hawkins Parrack and husband Allen of Fairmont, WV; 10 grandchildren Kelly, Michael, and Bethany (children of Larry and Linda Hawkins), Dale, Tyson, Heather, and Chad (children of Jesse and Sandy Hawkins), Jonathan Hawkins (son of John and Angie Hawkins), and Jean and Allen (children of Carrie and Allen Parrack); and eight great grandchildren. Also surviving Wilma are her siblings Betty Leighty Goss, Mickey Leighty Poling, Bill Leighty all of Morgantown, Gail Leighty Chandler Wright of Parris, TN, and Dick Leighty of Phoenix, AZ. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Lewis B. Hawkins; a granddaughter Haley (daughter of Carrie Hawkins); and her siblings Richard E. Leighty, Marion Leighty Stevens, Shirley Leighty Panrell, and Jake Leighty. Friends will be received at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Wednesday March 31, 2010 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm and again on Thursday from 10am until time of funeral services with Pastors Allen and Joseph Donham officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made in Wilma's memory to Alzheimer's Association 1299 Pineview Dr. Suite 3 Morgantown, WV 26505
