Willis Gail Burch, 64, of Granville, passed unexpectedly due to natural causes on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at the J.W. Ruby Hospital. He was born in Morgantown on August 11, 1957, son to Foster and Nellie Burch. Willis was a graduate of Morgantown High School. He was employed for many years in sales and was most passionate about anything involving home improvement or construction. He was a self-professed gearhead who loved classic cars and caught a car show any chance he could. His favorite pastimes were fishing and doing crossword puzzles with an unsweet tea in hand. His taste in music was as diverse as he was, ranging from Black Sabbath to Bluegrass. He enjoyed researching his family heritage and anything with black bears or lighthouses. He didn’t take himself too seriously and knew how to have fun. Cracking a joke at dinner or reminiscing about the good ole days. When things got tough, Willis got tougher and didn’t often complain. He will be missed greatly by those who knew him best. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 15 years, Sherry Hunt Burch, two daughters, Tabetha Burch and Alexandra ‘Allie’ (Josh) Snyder all of Morgantown; step-daughter, Tabatha (Pat) Wolfe of Independence; two brothers, Fred Burch and Nelson (Sue) Burch; sister-in-law, Tewana ‘TJ’ Burch; brother-in-law, Terry (Michelle) Hunt; two grandchildren, Hannah and Colton and numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Gary Burch. Family will welcome friends at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home on Friday, April 29, 2022 from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM and again on Saturday April 30 from noon until time of his remembrance service at 1 PM. Cremation will follow with a private inurnment to be held by the family.
