IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William 'Tom' T.
Shockley
August 25, 1942 – January 13, 2026
William T. “Tom” Shockley, Jr., 83, of Morgantown, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026.
Born on August 25, 1942, Tom was the son of the late William T. Shockley, Sr. and Josephine Durza Shockley. He lived a life rooted in faith, family, hard work, and simple joys.
Tom was the devoted husband of Judy Shockley, his partner in life and love. Together they built a family he treasured deeply. He was the proud father of two sons, William “Bill” Shockley III (Michelle) and Darryl Shockley (Kathy), and an especially proud grandfather to Jake Shockley (Crystal) and Chais Shockley (Kara), who brought him endless happiness. Time spent with his family was what mattered most to him.
After retiring from IBM as a customer service engineer, Tom and Judy moved to Morgantown following the birth of their first grandchild to enjoy the gift of time with family. Known for his steady hands and sharp mind, there wasn’t much Tom couldn’t fix. Friends and family alike relied on him for solutions, advice, and a job done right.
Tom found happiness in the outdoors and in the hum of an engine. He loved hunting and fishing and had a lifelong passion for classic cars and drag racing. Winters in Key Largo, Florida, were among his favorite seasons, filled with boating, fishing, shrimping, laughter, and lasting friendships.
A man of quiet faith, Tom was a longtime member of Goshen Baptist Church. He trusted in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and lived his life guided by that faith. Today, he rests eternally in God’s care.
In accordance with Tom’s wishes, cremation has been entrusted to Jenkins Funeral Home. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at Goshen Baptist Church on a date to be announced.
The family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to Goshen Baptist Church, 1070 Goshen Road, Morgantown, WV 26508.
