William Shaw

William ‘Dob’ Shaw, 70, of Kingwood Pike passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022, surrounded by his family and friends after a courageous battle with a long illness. He was born August 1, 1952 in Morgantown a son of the late Denzil ‘Jack’ and Lucy Shaw.

William worked for General Paving in his earlier years and retired from Greer in 2014. He was always known as Trucker Bill. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling, especially to Branson, MO. He also loved hunting, going to ‘our’ cabin in Mt. Storm, riding his Harley, and watching all forms of racing.

He is survived by brothers Denzil Shaw and wife Cathy, Larry Shaw and wife Maxine; sister Judy Costello and husband Harvey; sisters-in-law Donna Haseleu and husband Chuck, Rhonda Fichtner, Sherri Dalton and husband Darrin; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Glenna Mae Shaw, on October 18, 2022, they had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June, 2022; and his father and mother-in-law Leonard ‘Pete’ and Dewilla Dalton Summers.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff of WV Caring for all of their care and support.

A graveside service will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery on Friday, December 9, 2022 at 2pm with Pastor Donna Dalton and speaker Kathy Dalton officiating. Following the service Dob will be laid to rest beside his wife, Glenna.
