William Claude Reese

William Bud' Claude Reese, 83, of Fairmont passed away Friday August 19, 2011 at his home. He was born July 23, 1928 in Watson, WV a son to the late Mary Alice Bice Reese of Watson, WV and Claude Wesley Reese of Lancaster, OH. William served in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman. He was honorably discharged and received the World War II Victory Medal. William retired from the City of Deerfield Beach, FL where he was garage foreman. After he retired he returned home to the beautiful hills of WV to live his last years. He enjoyed that to the fullest. He was an auto/truck mechanic and welder by trade, but a designer and builder for challenge. He was a loving husband, dad, daddy, and grandpa. William loved his family, auto racing (which he did in his younger years), traveling, camping, cooking, and country and gospel music. Bud had a very deep passion for the outdoors, trees and all of God's animals that he put on earth. William leaves behind a wife Elizabeth Jane Sivak Reese of Fairmont; a daughter Julie Anne Rutherford and husband Richard E. Rutherford II; and a son Michael Todd Reese and wife Judy Ann of Fairmont. Also surviving are five grandchildren Amber Ramizer and husband Danny of Boyton Beach, FL, Richard E. Rutherford III of Fairmont, Katlin Reese, Bethany Reese and William G. Reese all of Fairmont; and three great grandchildren Danielle, Christian and Jordan Ramizer all of Boyton Beach, FL; four sisters Eleanor Carpenter and husband Kenneth of Chiefland, FL, Barbara Cooper of Boothsville, WV, Frances Cutright of Chandler, TX, Alice Reaves of Salado, TX, and a brother David Lee Reese and wife Eleanor from Lehigh Acres, FL; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents William was preceded in death by three sisters Marabelle Villers of Fairmont, Eloise Hyde of Bloomington, IN, and Doris Ann Hayes of Canal Fulton, OH. The family would like to thank all of their extended family and friends at Pisgah United Methodist Church, Dr. Beth Pelligrini and staff at BMA of Morgantown, Dr. Lobban and staff of Morgantown, and Dr. Hall and the staff of Amedisys Hospice of Clarksburg. In lieu of flower donations may be made to the kidney, lung, or heart associations, or to Pisgah United Methodist Church General Fund 2634 Smithtown Rd. Morgantown, WV 26508. To honor William's wishes, cremation was arranged by the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Pisgah United Methodist Church Old Smithtown Rd. Morgantown on Wednesday August 24, 2011 from 10am until time of memorial services at 11 am with Rev. Thomas Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah Cemetery.
