William "Wedgie" "Pap" Murray, 80 of Dellslow passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at home with his loving family by his side. He was born July 7, 1930 in Morgantown, the son of the late Earl and Eula Mayfield Murray. He worked at the Rosedale and Osage #3 coal mines, then at Crawford and Mascioli Block Company for 29 years. Then he retired from Albert Shaffer Trucking. He loved spending time with family. He got to enjoy his youngest granddaughter "Miranda" 6th birthday party the day before his death. His hobbies were collecting antique model cars and trucks. He loved listening to polka music. He was at his happiest when sitting on the porch talking about old times and family dinners. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Mildred "Mid" Fisher Murray; seven Children; Debra Mathess and companion David Sanders, George and Beulah Murray, Randy "Harve" Murray, Joanne and Larry Gay "Punkin" Blosser, John and Denise Murray, Marianne and Randy "Jingles" McFadden and Jody and Tracy Murray all of Morgantown. Also 10 grandchildren Steve and Judy Mathess, George "Pork" and Chrissy Murray, Jamie and Marie Murray, Jeremy and Valarie Blosser, Amy and Duane Thomas, Jennifer Murray, Johnny Murray, Amber and Patrick Murray, Miranda McFadden as well as several great grandchildren; one brother Freddie and Shirley Murray of Elkton, MD; four sisters Louise and Alva Calandrelli, Jackie and Dave Everly, Joyce and John Hilling, and Christine and Mark Dunn all of Morgantown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Robert Murray, a sister Pauline Kyle, son-in-law Glenn "Butch" Mathess, and two grandsons David "Sock" Mathess and Billy Joe Blosser. The family would like to give a special thank you to Donna Thompson and his special friend Lucy McBee from Amedyis Hospice and daughter in law "Nurse Tracy". Also, Rev. Ray Frankhouser for making his visits and being there for the family. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Friday, April 22, 2011 from 3-8pm and on Saturday at Nicholson Chapel Church from 1pm until the time of services at 2pm with Rev. Ray Frankhouser officiating. Burial will follow in the Nicholson Chapel Cemetery.
