William E. Johnson, Jr.

William E. ‘Bill’ Johnson, Jr., 73, of Morgantown left his family to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. He was born January 31, 1950 a son of the late William and Juanita Johnson. Bill graduated from Glenville High School.

He went to work for Bell Telephone Company and Formall Rubber in Ohio, before coming back to WV where he worked for WVU. Bill started as a custodian and worked his way up to Facilities Management.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Renay Johnson; sons Bill Johnson (B) of Maryland, James Johnson of Morgantown; daughter Brenda Johnson of Fairmont; brother and sister Neal and Nancy Johnson; special cousin Darrell Wilson; and his loyal friend Major. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Robert Johnson, twin daughters, special mother-in-law, and his six special companions Pinky, Sassy, Sandy, Joe, Mindy, and Trooper.

Family and friends may gather at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Friday, February 17, 2023 from 11am until the time of the funeral service at 1pm. Following the funeral service, Bill will be laid to rest at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
