William McClelland George, 100, of Morgantown passed away Friday October 8, 2010 at the Monongalia General Hospital. He was born February 13, 1910 in Silver Lakes, WV a son to the late John and Flossie Smith George. He retired from WVU, after many years of service, as a Maintenance Foreman. He is survived by three sons Wilbur George, John George both of Morgantown, and William Bill' George and wife Josie of Mt. Morris, PA; seven daughters Hallie Jean Sherlock of Baltimore, MD, Nevada Reed of Star City, Betty Skelley, Joyce Voithofer and companion Don Renner, Billie Fay Bicanich and husband Charles all of Morgantown, Judy Johnson of Star City, and Glenda Spicer of Milford, OH; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. William is also survived by his loving cat Buddy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 76 years Iva Marie Bonner George; four brothers Doyle George, Orval George, Bob George, and Elmo George; a sister Emma Atkinson; four sons-in-law Ralph Spicer, Vincent Sherlock, Ben Johnson, and Glenn Voithofer; and two daughters-in-law Judy George and Mary Valentine George. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Sunday October 10, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9pm and again on Monday from 12 noon until time of services at 1pm with Rev. Tim Halloran officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hills Cemetery. The family would like to thank Morgantown Hospice and the doctors and staff at Monongalia General Hospital for all of their care and support.
