Wilda E. 'Tillie' Bowser

Wilda Bowser, also fondly referred to as "Tillie" went to be with our Lord on Friday, July 1, 2011, at the age of 91. Tillie was born on February 2, 1920 in Mill Run, MD, daughter of the late George and Mabel Friend, and wife of the late William D. Bowser. She was happiest caring for family and friends and sacrificing for others. She also enjoyed family vacations at the beach and camping in Bemis, WV. Tillie was a cook for many years at the Sundale Nursing Home and House Mother for a girls sorority in Morgantown, WV. She spent many of her later years residing in Oakland, MD, and most recently resided in Core, WV, with her son, Wade, and cared for by her children. Tillie was the mother of six children: Son, the late Larry Bowser, and wife, Nancy, of Granville, WV; daughter, Delores, and husband, the late Earl Constable, of Port Charlotte, FL; daughter, Martha, and husband, Tom Sollars, of Blacksville, WV; son, Wade, and wife, the late Betty Bowser, of Core, WV; son, Delmas, and wife, Annabel Bowser, of Core, WV; daughter, Peggy, and husband, Roger Stewart, of Macdale, WV. She was Grandmother to 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Tillie is also survived by three sisters, Ruth Lyons, Frances Gnegy, and Ann Tolliver and brother, Jim Friend. Tillie was also preceded in death by grandson, Christopher Constable; great granddaughter Angela Camilletti; brothers Don, Otis and Bud; and sister Vera. Tillie will be missed by close friends, Roger and Mary White, Betty Varner, and good buddy Jeri "Miller". Tillie will be remembered at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 5 from 3-5 and 7-9pm and again on Wednesday from 10am until time of services at 11am with Reverend William O. Tolliver officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
