Virginia Brand

Virginia Lanham Brand, 86, passed on October 20, 2013 at home with her loving husband at her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on November 17, 1926 at Little Falls, WV, the daughter of Lowery C. and Vanna Stutler Lanham. She graduated from University High School in 1944, and then married Russell on October 8, 1945. She was a lifelong homemaker and was close to and cared deeply for her family, brothers and sisters throughout her life. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Russell J. Brand, sons Marty Brand, Mark Brand and daughter Susan Brand, grandchildren Trisha Eichenberry, Sarah Yokum, Jenna Brand and Christian Brand, great grandchildren Abriana Eichenberry, Timothy Eichenberry, and Nathan Yokum and sister, Gracie Zinn. She was preceded in death by her parents Lowery and Vanna, brothers, Frank, Clayton, and William, sisters, Dorothy Lanham, Georgia Weaver, Mary Gatian, Edith Lanham and Ruth Gatian. Special thanks to all the Doctors, Nurses, Morgantown Hospice and private caregivers who lovingly cared for her in her last days. At her request, following cremation, a private celebration of her life will be held for family and friends at 2pm on Wednesday, October 23rd at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, 10 South High St, Morgantown, WV. Donations may be made in her honor to Morgantown Hospice, 1063 Maple Drive, Morgantown, WV 26505.
