Violet E. Doubles, 96, of Sundale Nursing Home, formerly of Tyrone-Avery Road and Morgantown Unity Manor, passed away on Sunday March 30, 2014. Violet Evelyn Mansberger Doubles was born November 18, 1917 in Morgantown, the old town of Sabraton, the daughter of the late Joseph P. and Ava Clark Mansberger. Violet retired as a nurse employed by Dr. Robert S. English and worked part-time for the Mon Senior Home Health Care Program after her retirement. Before her illness, Violet was a faithful member of the Avery United Methodist Church. She is survived by three grandchildren; Sheri Daniel and husband Tim of Virginia, Jennifer Mayle of Morgantown and James Moats and wife Samantha residing in Huntington, WV; six great grandchildren, T.J. Daniel and wife Krystal, Christopher and Tabitha Daniel, Dakota, Autumn and Hunter; two great-great grandchildren, Peyton and Morgan Daniel. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, Richard, Shirley, Gloria, Saralee, Carolyn, Joyce, Donna, Linda, Robert, Randy, Roger and Dee. In addition to her parents Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Fred F. Doubles in 1971 after 29 years of marriage, her daughter, Patricia Ann Mayle in 2009; three sisters, Ethel Herstine, Martha Sanders and Ruth Thomas and one brother, Ervin J. Mansberger. The family would like to offer special thanks to Nicolle, Carol and Elaine from Hospice and the many special ladies at the new First Floor West Wing of Sundale. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Tuesday April 1, 2014 from 5pm until 7pm and again on Wednesday from 10am until time of services at 11am with Rev. Richard Work officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hills Cemetery.
