Vicki Flink

November 7, 1949 — January 5, 2022

Vicki Flink passed away on January 5th, 2022 at the age of 72 from her long battle with cancer. She was born November 7th, 1949 in Moundsville, West Virginia, to Margaret Hinerman and the late Verne Hinerman. She married her husband, Charles Flink, in 1971 who preceded her in death in 2006. She always worried and was concerned for others; and was there for family and friends as if she had no struggles in the world. She set an unprecedented example of strength, perseverance and acceptance; as she forged ahead thru many setbacks. The woman never met a stranger, and would learn in depth details of life’s journeys for most that crossed her path. She was also famously known as a food pusher, to family and especially to the doctors and nurses that took care of her during her treatments. Vicki treasured her long career in the education system. She strived to help and serve any individual she could help learn and build a better life. She enjoyed making jewelry and attending craft shows. Above all she loved her family. She is survived by her daughter Lynn Flink (husband Brant Moorhead), her two grandchildren Paityn and Barrett Moorhead, sister Pam Trydahl (husband Rick Trydahl, nephew John Trydahl and family), mother Margaret Hinerman, Charles's wonderful brothers, sisters and their spouses, and her uncles and cousins, and multiple nieces and nephews. She especially loved her role as grandma to Paityn and Barrett, who gave her additional strength in battling her illness provided by their laughter, hugs, and entertainment. Future arrangements will be made for an outside memorial service this summer. Donations can be made in honor of Vicki as well as the caring and remarkable doctors, nurses, aides, and valet attendants at WVU Mary Babb Randolph and 9 West to the following address: Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, PO Box 9300, Medical Center Drive, 26506. Checks Payable to WVU Foundation with the memo stating Vicki Flink and the word Research.
