Thomas Andrew Hovatter

Thomas Andrew Hovatter, 70 of Morgantown passed away Sunday August 15, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 11, 1940 in Kingwood, WV son of the late Clyde Austin and Margaret Shay Hovatter. Thomas retired from the United States Navy. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Mrs. Delores Barnett Hovatter; daughter Marcella Hovatter and son Thomas A. Hovatter, II; grandchildren, Jessica Hovatter and Marshall Stepney all of Morgantown; sister Billie Jo Waybright of Canton, OH; brothers Zane Hovatter and wife Betty of Manown, WV and Clyde Hovatter and wife Lydia of St. Augustine, FL. Also surviving is his mother-in-law Della Barnett; brothers-in-law James Barnett and wife Barbara and Junior Barnett and wife Goldie all of Morgantown; sisters-in-law Carol Kirk and husband Charles of Florida, and Mina Barnett of Shellsburg, PA. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Wednesday August 18, 2010 from 3-5 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held at 11am Thursday at the Fred L. Jenkins Chapel of Prayer with Pastor James Cooley, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow at the Nicholson Chapel Cemetery with full military honors provided by US Department of Navy and Westover VFW Post 9916.
