Theresa Helen Yerkovich

Theresa Helen Yerkovich, 68, of Morgantown, passed unexpectedly of natural causes at her home on Thursday, February 9, 2023. She was born in Warren, OH, on February 7, 1955 daughter of Andrew Yerkovich, Sr., and Edna Spicer Yerkovich.

Theresa was raised on the family farm in Core, WV, and was a graduate of Clay-Battelle High School. She worked as a nursing technician for Care Partners and Hospice, but her greatest passion was working with animals of every kind. She had formal training as a pet groomer in New York and most recently worked as the Boarding Supervisor at the Cheat Lake Animal Hospital. Other hobbies included singing and playing the harmonica.

Her heart was overflowing with love and generosity that she shared with so many. She cherished time with her children and grandchildren, and celebrating those special relationships with her family was the most important thing to Theresa.

She is survived by her children, Helena Shriver (Brian), of Cassville, David Arbuthnot, Jr. (Courtney) of Servia, WV; James Arbuthnot (Danielle Dittman) of Fairview and Sarah Brewer (Jamey) of Mt. Morris, PA; grandchildren, Brian Paul Shriver, II, Lily and Ella Arbuthnot, Rileedean Arbuthnot and Khali Brewer.

Also, surviving are her brother Andrew Yerkovich, Jr., and sister, Cindy Liddle, all of Morgantown.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Andrea DeWitt.

The family will hold a private gathering, and her request for cremation will be honored.
