Thelma Marie Rose Sovastion, 83, of Wildwood Street Star City, was welcomed by her Heavenly Father's outstretched hand on Friday, March 16, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Thelma was a loving and devoted Christian who dedicated her life to her family. She always placed others above herself and loved unconditionally. She touched the lives of everyone she knew. She was born May 13, 1928 in Sabraton, the daughter of the late Joda N. and Eunice McCarty Rose. She was a member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church. Thelma received a GED and went to Morgantown Business College. She also attended classes at West Virginia University. She was a former employee of Beaumont Glass Co., F. W. Woolworth, and retired in 1996 from West Virginia University Physical Education Department after 21 years of service. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Frank Sovastion, a son Rick Sovastion of Morgantown, Diana Jabour and spouse Elias of Port Orange Florida, Debra Coles and spouse Rick of Morgantown, and Denise Pettit and spouse John of Star City. She is also survived by one sister Wilma Rohr of Morgantown, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers: Raymond, Cecil, Joda Jr., and Kermit Rose and five sisters: Ruby Rose, Dimple Farrell, Mabel Brown, Lena Knotts, Violet Poole, and an infant son Frank Sovastion Jr. She will be dearly missed and eternally live in the hearts and memories of all those who knew her. Friends may be received at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Monday, March 19, 2012 from 3-5 and 7-9pm and again on Tuesday from 12 noon until the time of services at 1pm with Rev.
