Teresa Sue Rice

Teresa Sue 'Terri' Rice, 62 years of age of Bretz, WV, passed peacefully on April 9, 2026 surrounded by family at the JW Ruby Memorial Hospital.

She was born February 16, 1964, at the Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio, the daughter of David Lee Lowther of Morgantown and the late Judith Ann George and John M. George of Morgantown.

She is survived by her spouse Melody Grugin, a daughter, Kimberly Rice (John Robison) of Reedsville WV; son Kevin (Sammy) Rice of Morgantown. She has several grandchildren Dezyrae Evans (Joey Hostetter), Kylea Rice, Javien Rice, Dominic Rice, Paisley Snyder, and Kinsley Rice; great-grandson, Jackson Hostetter

She is also survived by siblings Tammy (Kim) Labarge, Sherri Lowther (Jeremy Culpepper) and John (Melody) George and several nieces and nephews.

Terri went to West Virginia University and attained a Bachelor's Degree of Social Work. She has spent the last several years working with West Virginia children and adults.

She attended Suncrest United Methodist Church. She loved her family and spending time playing games, camping, and watching the grandchildren's activities. They called her "Nana". The family enjoyed parties and picnics. She enjoyed reading and doing activities in the backyard.

Friends and family will gather on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at the Fred L Jenkins Funeral Home 10 S. High Street Morgantown, WV 26501 from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM and again on Wednesday from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM with Pastor Larry Buckland officiating. She will rest at the East Oak Grove Cemetery.
