Sylvia L. Dixon

Sylvia Leona Dixon, 82 of Willey St., Morgantown passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born March 14, 1928 in Morgantown, the daughter of the late Robert and Ruth Goodwin Lewis. Sylvia was a retired employee of WVU and was active with the Senior Monongalians. She is survived by her daughters Gloria Jean Parsons of Beaver Falls, Pa., Edith Orban and husband Richard of Tiltonsville, OH, Betsy Orwig of Ohio, Christina Hill and huband Ken of Carlisle, Pa., A son Allen Dixon of Bruceton Mills, WV, A sister Mary Ruth McNear of Powhatan, OH. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband Glenford Dixon, a son Duart Gribble and brothers Ronald Ralph Lewis, Donald Robert Lewis and Charles Richard Lewis. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Sunday, January 2, 2011 from 2-7pm. Funeral services will be held at 11am Monday at the funeral home with Kimberly J. Belcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
