Shirley Marie Dibell, 71 of Martinsburg, formerly of Preston County passed away Wednesday December 14, 2011 at Ruby memorial hospital. She was born August 20, 1940 in Greer, WV daughter to the late Frank and Minnie McVicker Pirlo. Shirley was a homemaker for many years. She loved yard sales and collected angels. More than anything she loved her grandchildren and spending time in her garden. She was Baptist by faith and while living in Preston County attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Masontown. She is survived by her children, daughter Angel Shade and fiancé Dwayne of Martinsburg; son Robert Hovatter, Jr. and wife Teresa of Morgantown; daughter Anna Hovatter of Lafayette, LA; son Michael Hovatter of Represa, CA; daughters Linda Dibell of Andover, OH and Gloria Dibell; grandchildren Robert W. Hovatter, Daniel L. Hovatter, Billy Hovatter, Morgan Dibell, Dreama Street, Anthony Hedrick, Jeffrey Hedrick and Sarah Dibell; four great grandchildren; brothers Vaughn Choppy' Pirlo, Fred Pirlo and Louie Pirlo all of Dellslow and sister Diane Martin of Kingsville, OH. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Robert Hovatter, Sr.; second husband James Dibell; brother Pete Pirlo; two sisters Jean Sylvester and Linda Quince and one grandson Michael Hovatter. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Saturday December 17 from 11am until time of services at 1pm with Pastor Bennie Moran officiating. Honoring Shirley's wishes cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
