Shirley Virginia Austin

Shirley Virginia Austin, 75, died at Morgantown Healthcare Center on Thursday, January 23, 2025. Shirley was born February 15, 1949, in Morgantown, WV to Harold and Flossie McCormick.

She is survived by one daughter, Candice Austin and her companion John M. Sinsel, and one son, James Elvis Austin, both of Morgantown. She is also survived by four grandchildren - David Harper (currently serving in the United States Navy), Gracie Harper and her companion Justice Camp, Blake Austin, and Clayton Austin, all of Morgantown and one great grandchild - Levi James Camp of Morgantown.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter-in-law Sherry Austin, and an infant brother, Harold McCormick.

She enjoyed going to Memphis, Tennessee to go to Graceland. She was a very hard-working person that worked at Sterling Faucet, McDonalds, Advanced Auto, and Walmart along with other places in her lifetime. Everyone that knew her remembers her as a kind and hard-working lady who would help anyone in need.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from 2-4pm & 6-8pm, and again on Wednesday from 12pm until the time of the funeral service at 1pm with Pastor Joe Peters officiating. Following the service, Shirley will be laid to rest at Mt. Union Cemetery.
