Shawn Michael McCabe,

44, of Morgantown, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, October 29, 2018.

The son of the late John Henry McCabe and Peggy Reeder he was born January 17, 1974 in Morgantown.

Shawn was an avid angler and hunter and enjoyed spending time looking around Sportsman’s Emporium. Shawn also enjoyed spending his weekends riding ATVs. He was a long time employee of the City Of Morgantown.

Shawn is survived by his fiancée, Julie Phillips, and her son, Tristan Phillips; a sister, Susie Reeder; four brothers: Rich Reeder, John Allen McCabe, Robert Lee McCabe, and Chris McCabe, a uncle, Jim McCabe; nephews: Doug Scotchel, Jr., Jeremy Reeder, Zack Reeder; and a great nephew, Doug Scotchel III.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ginny Reeder.

Family and friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, Wednesday, from 5 to 8pm and again on Thursday, November 1, 2018, from 10am until the 11am funeral service. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, in Kingwood, WV.
