Sarah Rose Spina

Sarah Rose Spina, 97, of Oakview Drive, Morgantown, passed away at the Monongalia General Hospital on Monday April 1, 2013. She was born on June 25, 1915 in Cerenzia, in the Province of Calabria, Italy. She was the daughter of the late John and Rose Iaquinto and stepmother, Serafina Iaquinto. She and her husband, Mauro, operated a family grocery business in Fairmont and Shriver and were the owners of the original Mario's Fishbowl. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mauro Spina; daughter, Maurina Spina Gregg; a sister, Leatha Ventura; and two brothers, Lorenzo and Sam Iaquinto. Survivors include three daughters, Leatha Louise Mogyoros, Rose Marie Rowe and husband Larry, Angel Draughn; one son Mauro A. Spina and wife Sandy; sister Mary Iaquinto; 12 grandchildren, Julius Mogyoros, Michele Cale and husband Larry, Dawn Marie Mogyoros, Michael Rowe with Laura Crowder, Angie Mowe and husband Tom, Mauro Spina and wife Cathy, Christopher Spina, Jason Spina and wife Jamie, Brooks Draughn, Paul Draughn, Christopher Crowder, and Greg Gregg. Also surviving are 12 great grandchildren. Rose's wishes for cremation have been honored by the family. Friends may call at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum on Saturday, April 6, 2013 from 10am until time of memorial service at 11am.
