Sandra Lee Utzman

Sandra Lee Ritchey Utzman, 76 years old, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday August 26, 2017 at her home. She was born on July 21, 1941 in Uniontown, PA, the youngest child of the late Vernon Blair and Merle Sylvia (Daugherty) Ritchey. Following the death of her mother when she was 6 months old, Sandra was raised by her aunt and uncle, the late Virginia Pearl (Daugherty) and French Wilt. Sandra graduated from Morgantown High School in 1959. She was employed by McCrory's Drug Store, Morgan Shirt Factory, and Big B Supermarket. From 1975 until her retirement in 2001, Sandra was employed as an ECG and Stress Lab Technician at WVU Hospitals Department of Cardiology. More recently, Sandra volunteered many years at Animal Friends Thrift Shoppe. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Edward H. Utzman; her son and daughter-in-law Ralph R. and Donna Utzman of Hagans; six grandchildren Ryan and Nathan Utzman of Morgantown, Logan and Gretchan Utzman of Hagans, and Sandra and Joseph Utzman of Fairchance, PA. She is also survived by her sister Judy Drake of Kingmont, and her bonus sister Margorie (Wilt) Dillaman of Redwood City, CA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her oldest son Mark E. Utzman in 2005, her sister Barbara Lassiter, and her three brothers William, Gerald, and Robert Ritchey. Honoring Sandra's wishes cremation services are being provided by Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home.Friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Friday September 1, 2017 from 12pm until the time of the memorial service at 1pm with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah Cemetery.
