Sandra Friedman

July 26, 1944 — November 27, 2013

Sandra Davies Friedman was born July 26, 1944. The daughter of the late Richard E. Davies, Morgantown Police Judge for many years, and Dorothy Sisler Davies, also of Morgantown and currently residing in Bradenton Beach Florida. Sandy passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013. Beloved Mom and friend, she was a graduate of Morgantown High and West Virginia University where she served as a graduate assistant in the English Department while working on her Master's degree. Sandy ultimately joined the staff of the Monongalia General Hospital as Director of Housekeeping where she retired as the Director of Safety and Security after 33 years. Sandy, not being content to sit at home in retirement, went to work at the Soap Opera, a specialty store located at the Seneca Center, a job she thoroughly loved as it allowed her vigorous interaction with all the shoppers and lifetime friends and acquaintances she made over her years living in Morgantown. She loved to travel and could never get enough of the ocean, beach, surf, sand and crab legs. Sandy will be long remembered as a wonderful friend and kindred spirit to all persons and animals (especially cats) that needed a helping hand. She is survived by her son, Ford Pearse, his wife Suzy, and granddaughter Jordan of Greenville, South Carolina and her brother Richard P. Davies and his wife Sue Davies of Bradenton Beach, Florida. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, Morgantown, and will be officiated by Dr. Rudolph P. Almasy. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Monday, December 2, 2013 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Mountaineer Spay Neuter Assistance Program (M-SNAP) P.O. Box 4335, Morgantown, WV 26504 or Animal Friends, 252 Brewer Rd, Morgantown, WV 26508. Condolences may be made to the family by visiting http://www.fredjenkinsfuneralhome.com.
