Ruth Arlene Freeland

Ruth “Arlene” Freeland, age 65, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born June 30, 1955 in Fairmont, a daughter to the late Delbert and Nona Freeland.

Ruth is survived by three children son Jody Gray of Morgantown, daughter Anndreea Wright and husband James of Morgantown, and Mirranda Shelott and husband Stephen of Grafton; grandchildren Dustin and Chase Nicholson, Isaiah and Brayden Shelott, Tyler Shorter, and Samantha and Joey Gray; five brothers Arthur Freeland and wife Terry of Ida May, WV; Roger Freeland and wife Betty of Thornton, WV; and Eugene Freeland, Richard Freeland and wife Debra, and Daniel Freeland and wife Kim all of Fairmont; also her longtime, childhood friend and companion Ronnie Dunn.

Ruth worked for many years as a nutrition aide at Mon General Hospital. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, crafting, spending time with her grandchildren, and rescuing her beloved dogs whom she cared for dearly.

Friends and family will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from 1 P.M. until the time of the funeral service at 3 P.M. with Pastor Kevin Summers officiating. Her wishes to be cremated will be honored thereafter.
