Russell Allen Cox

Russell Allen Cox, 43, of Morgantown died at the J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital following a short illness. He passed peacefully under the compassionate care of hospice surrounded by his family on Wednesday, February 22, 2023.

Allen as he best known, was born December 11, 1979, in Morgantown son to Linda Austin Straight and Russell M. Cox.

Allen loved riding his bike all over the area and was quite the tinkerer. He retro fit several manual powered bikes with two-stroke engines to get him up the long and sometimes steep WV hills. He will be missed by his friends and family.

Allen is survived by his mother, Linda Straight; his long-time girlfriend, Gloria Swiger; aunts & uncles, Donna and Larry Kisner, Barbara Trader & Donald & Carolyn Austin and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Russell M Cox; maternal grandparents, Ross & Edith Austin and paternal grandparents, Forest and Wilma Cox.

Friends and family are invited to gather at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home on Monday February 27, 2023 from 10 AM until time of services at 12 Noon. Cremation will follow with a private inurnment of his ashes by the family.
