Rosella Joyce (Spacht) Coffelt, 70, of Morgantown, formerly of Harrisonburg, VA, passed away Thursday May 8, 2014 at the Madison Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born in Morgantown on October 17, 1943, the daughter of the late John O. Spacht, Jr., and Virginia Ruth (Blaney) Spacht. Joyce was a graduate of University High School class of 1961. Following high school she worked at Wilkins Motors for 11 years and married James Kendall. Years later, after the unexpected death of her first husband, she married Robert Coffelt of Edinburg, VA. She worked in Harrisonburg, VA for Windshield City and retired after 33 years of service. Joyce was a loving wife and aunt. She enjoyed cross word and jigsaw puzzles, gardening, crocheting and embroidery. She is survived by her sister Mary Ida (Spacht) Dunn and husband Richard; brother Donald Spacht and wife JoEllen; two nieces that were like her children and caretakers, Paula Dunn and Pamela Howdershelt. She is also survived by six nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews all of Morgantown. Also surviving are two aunts, June Pugh and Melvina Blaney both of Morgantown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband James Kendall in 1962, her second husband, Robert Coffelt in 1988; one sister Alice Faye Spacht and two brothers Harold and Harry Spacht. Friends may call the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Monday May 12, 2014 from 3 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm and again on Tuesday from noon until time of services at 1pm . Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hills Cemetery. A great heartfelt thank you to Dr. Vicky Mays, Virginia, Laura, Roberta, Jessica and Amber, who took great care of Joyce while at the Madison, don't know what we would have done without you.
