Ethel Rose Shoemaker, 62 of Morgantown passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 13, 2011 with her loving family by her side after a very courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. A beloved friend and devoted employee at Sundale Nursing Home for 19 years. Rose was born February 17, 1949 in Fairmont daughter to the late John C Hupp, Jr. and Inis Ullom-Hupp. She is survived by John Shoemaker, Sr., her best friend & loving husband of 43 years who never left her side throughout her battle; her four loving children Sherry Newcome and husband Micheal of Masontown, John Shoemaker, Jr., and wife Lessa of Morgantown, Steven Shoemaker and wife April of Morgantown, Stacy Lewis and husband Shane of Morgantown; 13 grandchildren who she held dear to her heart. A very special grandson C.J. Shoemaker together with Eddie Haught. To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die. John, Rosemary, Garrette, Steven, Nicole, Brittany, Brandi, Joni Leigh, Hunter, Mitchell, Jessica , Cheyne Leigh and one great grandchild Jacoby Shoemaker. She is also survived by Josie Shoemaker-Cumley mother of grandchildren & friend. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Saturday April 16 and Sunday April 17 from 3-5 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1pm with Pastor Milford Watters officiating. Burial will follow at the Grandview Memorial Gardens, Fairmont, WV.
