Rose Marie Schifano Chapman

July 22, 1932 — March 5, 2017

Rose Marie (Schifano) Chapman passed away March 5, 2017 at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown.

Rose was born July 22, 1932, in Morgantown, WV to the late Joseph and Dora (Cannistrano) Schifano. She graduated from St. Francis High School and St. Francis Business College, after which she worked at the Morgantown Water Commission office. Rose then moved to Pontiac, Michigan in the late 60s to begin her family, and found work as a doctor's office assistant. After five years, she moved back to Kingwood, WV to be near her siblings. In Kingwood, she attended St. Sebastian Catholic Church and first worked for the local extension office. Later, she obtained the position of office manager at the Kingwood Medical Clinic. After 22 years of service there, she retired, and took up helping her sister Mary at her nephew's grocery store, Marrara's Market, in the mid 90s. Feeling nostalgic, she then returned to Morgantown to live in her childhood home located in Booth. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Parish, formerly St. Theresa /St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Parish.

Rose is survived by many nieces and nephews, but especially by her son, Chad (Chadwick) Chapman of Morgantown, who dedicated his service to her in the later years of her life, as she had done for him throughout all of his.

In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her brothers, Tony, Charles and Joseph Schifano, and her sisters, Anna Gargarella, Mary Jane Marrara and Josephine Zuccari.

Family and friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Wednesday, March 8, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A scriptural wake service will be held at 7:30 pm in the funeral home to conclude the Wednesday evening visitation.
