Rosalie Hegner

Rosalie Clark Hegner died on August 4 2013 at Sundale Nursing Home in Morgantown. She was 87 years old. Rosalie was born in West Virginia but lived for many years in Colorado where she raised her family. Rosalie happily returned to West Virginia when she married Robert Hegner, who predeceased her. She was predeceased by her son, William, and her daughter, Deborah. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret, of New York, eight grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She loved living in Morgantown and was a longtime fan of the West Virginia University Mountaineers. She often talked of her many friends to whom she felt very close. She worked as an election official for many years. She tended children of working parents as if they were her own. She enjoyed going to nursing homes to help senior citizens with crafts and other activities. She worked at a local convenience store for many years where she was like a mother to the other workers. She enjoyed doing many crafts and she enjoyed gardening. A visitation will be held at Fred L Jenkins Funeral Home on Monday August 12 2013 from 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10am at St. John University Parish with Rev John Peck OSB as celebrant. Burial will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Rosalie's name to Sundale Residence Counsel care of Sundale Nursing Home at 800 J D Anderson Drive, Morgantown, West Virginia 26505.
