Ronald Cecil Helmick

Ronald C. Bonzo' Helmick, 70, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2013 at the Sundale Nursing Home. He was born March 29, 1943 in Morgantown son to the late Cecil and Virginia Powley Helmick. Ron was Christian by faith. In earlier years Ron worked in the construction trade in the Morgantown and surrounding areas. Ron loved to play music and was talented on several instruments. In his later years he enjoyed working with crafts and anything that was hands on. He is survived by his sister Betty Horne and brother Bill Helmick and wife Verna all of Morgantown; seven nieces and three nephews; step sons, Gerald Harris, Jr., David Harris and Eugene Harris, step daughters Linda McMillen and Pamela Davis all of Morgantown. Also surviving are seven step grandchildren and 12 step great grandchildren all of Morgantown. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Harris Helmick, and two step great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Sunday November 3, 2013 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm and again on Monday from 10am until time of services at 11am with Pastor Gina Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the funeral home to help with expenses. The family would like to thank Gerald and Barbara Harris, Ron's sisters-in-law, Janet Phillips, Kay Wise and Jane Clark for their help and frequent visits with Ron over the past year.
