Roger Dale Wolfe, Sr., age 71, of Morgantown passed away surrounded by his family on November 29, 2022 after a short but valiant fight with a sudden illness. He was born on July 4, 1951 to the late Roy and Georgia Wolfe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Wolfe; a sister, Donna Plum; and his son-in-law, Todd Bolden.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 28 years, Lisa Wolfe; three children, Christie Bolden, Misty Shepphard, and Roger Wolfe “JR”; three brothers, Cecil (Beverly) Wolfe, Jack (Patty) Wolfe, and Harmon (Amy) Wolfe; a sister, Carol (Roy) Helmick; his mother-in-law, Janet Keenan; a sister-in-law, Christina De Luca; two brothers-in-law, Matt Speakman and Brian (Rebecca) Speakman, as well as their children; his grandchildren, Michael Jeffries, Tiffany Riggen (partner Derek), Larry (Summer) Shepphard, Isabella Wolfe, and Roger Wolfe-Lancaster; great-grandchildren, Adaline and Jackson Riggen, Linsey, Abby, Malachi and Daniel Sheppard, and two twin girls, Octavia and Elaina on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
Roger was a retired mason with over 30 years of experience in the field. He contributed to setting the foundation for numerous buildings in WV and the surrounding states. He was a hard worker, and even after his retirement could be found in the garage building or fixing something. He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, whether it was around town or on long trips with close friends. Roger was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and would help anyone in need at the drop of a hat. He had a great sense of humor and wasn’t afraid to use it. Roger was a great man who was loved by many. He will be truly missed and lovingly remembered.
Friends and family are invited to gather at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Monday, December 5, 2022 from 2-4PM & 6-8PM, then again on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 11AM until the time of service at 12PM. Roger will be laid to rest at Nicholson Chapel Cemetery alongside his family.
In honor of Roger’s memory and in celebration of his life, those attending the funeral service on Tuesday are encouraged to wear jeans and a black, orange, or Harley shirt.
