Robert Louis ‘Bob’ Sawyer,

61, of Maidsville, WV, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

The son of the late Willard Louis and Arthilla Grace Sawyer, he was born July 4, 1955 in Binghamton, NY.

Bob was employed for 33 years at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He attended Mount Calvary Assembly of God Church and was Pentecostal by faith. One of Bob’s greatest joys was cooking and baking. He loved to bake for his extended family “adopted kids” as he called all of them at Chic-fiL-a, Boston Beanery and anyone else that he came in contact with. He always had a heart full of love for everyone. Most of all Bob was a family man and loved spending time with his family.

Bob is survived by his wife, of 36 years, Dena Sawyer; two daughters, Misty Miller-Glessner and her husband, Craig, and Kylie Knisell; and Ronald Miller. Seven grandchildren: Hannah and Raylynn Miller, Sierra and Devani Glessner, Elizabeth, Jackson and Mason Knisell; two sisters and their husbands, Joann and Russ Wrachford and Patty and John Chuchiak; a sister-in-law, Shelly Tennant and her husband, Richard; and several nieces and nephews that he dearly loved.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Artie Sawyer.

Family and friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, Tuesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again Wednesday, October 19, 2016, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service with Pastor Johnny Whitehair officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
