Robert Lee (Bob) Burns, 68 of Maidsville passed away Friday, February 19, 2010 at Ruby Memorial. He was born February 2, 1942 in Morgantown, the son of the late Charles L. and Claudia Virginia Dalton Burns. Bob was retired as a truck driver with PJAX Trucking. Bob enjoyed spending time outdoors deer hunting, especially archery hunting. He also enjoyed spending his days at the trout pond. He was very active in riding his bike, walking and taking his kayak out on the lake. He also loved going to country music shows, especially the Sagebrush Roundup and Mountain Heights, where you would often find him on the dance floor. He also enjoyed sitting on his couch playing his fiddle. Bob was also a veteran of the Army, having served in Vietnam. He is survived by his wife Betty A. Kiger Burns, 2 daughters Debbie Burns and her significant other Jerry Parsons of Morgantown and Missy Burns and her significant other Fred Grinnan of Portland, Oregon. 4 sisters Shirley Morrison and close friend Kenneth Bolyard of Morgantown, Donna Channel and husband Dennis , Joyce Miller and Husband Lester and Carolyn Casseday and husband Richard all of Morgantown. Also surviving are a special little friend Olivia, sisters in law Helen Hoskins and Doris Gooden , brother in law Bill Kiger and wife Betty Jo and his Yorkie Toby. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8pm and Wednesday from 11am until the time of services at 1pm with Rev. Gale Cobb officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery Military honors will be conducted on Wednesday at the funeral home with VFW Post 548 and WVANG, Camp Dawson.
