Robert Douglas ‘Bobby’ Bonnell, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday December 8, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Morgantown, a son of Dorothy Blosser Bonnell of Morgantown and the late Robert Sherman Bonnell.
Bobby was Apostolic by faith and a member of the Apostolic Lighthouse. In his free time enjoyed sitting on his back porch watching birds and other wildlife.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his beloved wife Susie Burns Bonnell; daughter Kristi Shaffer and husband Jon; grandchildren Emily and Tyler Shaffer; mother-in-law, sister and brother-in-law, aunts, uncles and many cousins.
In addition to his father, Bobby was preceded in death by his father-in-law, paternal and maternal grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Thursday December 12, 2019 at 11am with Pastors Gary Blosser and Donna Dalton officiating. Honoring Bobby’s wishes, the casket will remain closed. Private burial will take place at a later time at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff with Fresenius Kidney Care, Care Partners, and Amedisys Hospice, especially nurse Sara Courtright for all of the care and support given to Bobby.
