Richard "Rick" Wimer

Richard Alan Wimer, 54, of Core, WV formally of Franklin, WV passed away December 21, 2015. He was born June 20, 1961 in Harrisonburg, VA to the late William A. and Barbara A. (May) Wimer. Rick graduated from Franklin High School in 1979 and completed his education at Fairmont State College.

He is survived by his loving wife and soulmate of twenty years, Linda S. (Hunt) Wimer, his son and pride and joy, Jalen Joseph Wimer. Rick is also survived by an uncle, Edward and spouse Jamay Wimer of Franklin, WV; mother-in-law, JoAnn Hunt, sisters-in-laws; Dixie (Hunt) and spouse John Hriblan of Morgantown, WV, Barbara (Ward) and spouse Mike Kent of Chestertown, MD, Cindy (Hunt) and spouse Mike Simpson of Daybrook, WV, and Donna Evans of Morgantown, WV, nephews, Christopher and Brandon Hriblan, and Grant Evans of Morgantown nieces; Jordan Simpson of Daybrook, Ashley Sperando and his God daughter Taylor Hriblan of Morgantown, WV, great-niece Skylee and Maya Hriblan, great nephews; Bryson Rye of Morgantown, Chance Gamble of Daybrook, and D’Anthony Hriblan of Morgantown and several cousins.

Rick was the friendly and knowledgeable face at Tolley Electric/State Electric for over twenty years. He was passionate about sports especially watching and coaching his son, Jalen. Rick was Catholic in faith and attended St. Mary Roman Catholic Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by father-in-law Joe A. Hunt.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wimer Family Fund c/o United Bank, 990 Elmer Prince Dr, Morgantown, WV 26505.

Family and friends will be received at the St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Monday, December 28th for visitation from 11am until the time of service at 1pm.

Honoring Rick’s wishes, cremation services will be provided following the service by Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home.
