Richard Harland Mccord

Richard Harland McCord, age 73 of New Hill Cassville, passed away at his home on Monday May 2, 2011. He was born March 23, 1938, a son of the late Tracy Russell McCord and Ermal V. Kemp McCord. He served in the Army. He was employed until his retirement in July of 2010 at Hartsell's Exxon. He loved working on cars; but mostly taking care of his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Carolyn L. Skavinsky McCord. One daughter Dorothea D. Savage and husband Raymond S. Savage of Westover; one son Richard H. Bud' McCord Jr. and wife Mary McCord of New Hill Cassville; one special niece Tammy J. Burnette and husband Micheal R. Burnette of Morgantown; two brothers Tracy R. McCord, Jr., and Homer Clyde McCord and two sisters Nora Lee Beers and Linda Mae McCord all of Cassville. Also surviving are five grandchildren Raymond Scott Savage Jr. and Tamara L. Savage of Westover and Ricki E. McCord, Ryan N. McCord, and Riley N. McCord of New Hill Cassville and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Kathleen Reckart, Loretta Florence Keener, Erma VonDean Brake; two brothers, Luther George McCord, Albert Ami McCord. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Wednesday May 4, 2011 from 3-5 and 7-9pm and again on Thursday from 10am until time of services at 11am with Pastor Brian Kiehl officiating. Burial will follow at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens with military rites conducted by Westover VFW Post 9916 and WVANG Camp Dawson.
