Richard R. Mcclain, Jr.

June 22, 1952 — June 21, 2021

Richard Roe McClain, Jr, 68, of Knoxville, TN, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 21, 2021.

Rick was born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 22, 1952, the son of the late Richard and Betty McClain.

He was a graduate of Penn State University in Law Enforcement, Rick was a police officer before serving over 16 years in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from the US Postal Service in 2008.

Rick was an active member of the Church of the Good Samaritan, and proud of his Scottish heritage.

Rick is survived by his wife of 30 years, Ann, and children Jennifer Kinney (Kile) of Columbia, SC; Kimberly Ruelas (Alex) of San Diego, CA; and Caitlin McClain of Pittsburgh, PA. Also three brothers, William, Robert, and John; and two sisters, Dyan and Mary, and eight adored grandchildren.

In accordance with Rick’s wishes, a private graveside service was held at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Morgantown, WV, with full military honors and bagpipes.

A memorial service will be held be at the Church of the Good Samaritan in Knoxville, TN on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at 4:00 pm.
