Richard A. "Pete" Barill, 72, of Morgantown entered into rest April 12, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Joseph S. Barill and Helen Gentile-Barill. He was born in Morgantown and retired from Davis-Lynch Glass Company as a glassblower after 29 years of service. He continued to work as a licensed electrician at Mylan Pharmaceuticals where he finished his working career. Pete was a member of Mountaineer Golf Club where he enjoyed a lively round of golf with his many friends and ending with a hot dog and a few beers. Until his health started to decline he was a member of the Mt. Morris Sportsman's Club and bowled on the Mylan League at Suburban Lanes. He was an avid fan of the West Virginia Mountaineers and the Indianapolis Colts. The biggest highlight of his life was to attend the Super Bowl in February 2007 when the Indianapolis Colts beat the Chicago Bears as a guest of his son Erin. Pete is survived by his wife, Loretta E. Barill and they would have celebrated 50 years of marriage May 15, 2015. In addition to his wife he is survived by his son Erin Richard and spouse Terra Shay Barill of Brownsburg, IN and daughter Brittany Lynne and spouse Daniel Jess Beavers of Chagrin Falls, OH; brothers, Anthony P. Barill of Morgantown and Ronald L. Barill and spouse Mary (Sandy) Barill; sister Barbara Solley and spouse William of Little Egg Harbor, NJ. Preceding Pete in death, brother-in-law Thomas P. Sapp III, sister-in-law Beverly Barill and nephew Brad Barill. Pete enjoyed his special time with his grand-children, Jackson Douglas and Mia Elizabeth Beavers of Chagrin Falls, OH, Kinzie Rayne, Journey Pearl, Briggs Perry, and Meadow Barill due the end of June 2015 of Brownsburg, IN. Pete took a grim diagnosis and championed a victory run of 22 months, he was never a quitter. A special Thank You to those who took him on this crusade-we will be forever grateful for your support, guidance, compassion and comforting spirit; Dr. John J. Azar, Deborah Lucente, Jaime, the staff of Zelda Weiss Cancer Clinic and our Angels in the infusion center-Heather, Angie, Janice, Theda, Trish, Rachel, Melissa and Kim. Bree and Melissa at Target pharmacyyou were the best. Also in gratitude, the 5th floor oncology nurses and our many friends at Monongalia General Hospital for their comfort care in his final days. The family would also like to extend thanks to the radiation oncology practice at Ruby Memorial Hospital-led by Dr. Christopher Watson, his nurse Kathy, and staff; and the amazing support Morgantown Hospice. Pete also enjoyed spending time talking with Sister Rachel Blais. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pete's memory may be made to St. Ursula Food Pantry and Outreach, PO Box 18, Pursglove, WV 26546 and also Monongalia County Canine Adoption Center, 243 High St, Morgantown, WV 26501. Family and friends will be received Thursday, April 23 from 4-8 pm at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home and a memorial service will be held Friday, April 24, 2015 at 11am at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church with Father John DiBacco officiating. Honoring Pete's wishes, cremation services were provided by Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home.
