His faith became sight on the morning of May 14, 2021.
Rev. David Mahan White entered the unspeakable glory of his Lord and Savior on Friday morning. His spirit left this world surrounded by his family.
Dave was born October 18, 1945, in Morgantown to Eugene White and Betty Jean Poling.
Dave was blessed with the ability to meet people where they were, which made him an exceptional salesperson. He worked in insurance for a time and would make his mark in the corporate world to become one of Ford Motor Company's most revered and successful salespeople. Dave would outsell all his peers every year at one of the nation's largest dealerships on the west coast and would eventually be given the responsibility to train other salespeople; in fact, he wrote the manual that Ford used to train sales teams nationwide.
Dave never retired and was working on his 41st year with Morgantown Power Equipment alongside his good friend, Argyle Sheets.
Dave was also a minister of the Gospel at many churches around the area. Dave held a Ph.D. in Theology from the Apostolic Bible Institute and was the Senior Pastor at the First Apostolic Church in Sabraton, WV, and Malden Christian Fellowship in Malden, PA for 13 years. His ministry was shared both in sermon and song. He had a beautiful tenor voice and sang with several quartets over the years, presided over hundreds of weddings, funerals, and revivals. His ministry will live on, and we may never know the impact of his unfailing willingness to share the good news of the Lord Jesus with others.
He leaves to mourn his loss and cherish his memory, his wife of 25 years, Joyce Rodeheaver White; son, Tanner White at home; his stepfather, Billy Reay Hackney; daughters, Missi White (Patrick Kendall) of North Carolina, Kim George of Morgantown; son, David M. White, II of Morgantown; seven grandchildren, Nick Ely, Brandon Ely, Jesse Ely, Ryan Malott, Morgan Malott, Madison George, and Haley White; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Eugene White (Janet) of Michigan, Dean White of Ohio and two sisters, Marybeth Robertson of Ohio and April White-Perkins of Texas. Also, surviving are his long-time friends, Willis Livengood of Morgantown and Elvon Livengood of Bruceton Mills; brother-in-law Terry Rodeheaver of Keisterville, PA sister-in-law Lana Henson of Uniontown, PA, and her sons, Tommy and Sean Henson.
The family will welcome friends at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, from 4 PM until 8 PM and again on Thursday from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM with Sr. Pastor Allen Donham and Pastor Ken Walls officiating. Dave will be laid to rest at the Walnut Hill Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
