Raymond R. Rowan

Raymond R. Rowan, 79, of Morgan's Ridge, Fairmont, WV, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015, following an extended illness. The son of the late Raymond C. and Edith Rowan, he was born May 13, 1936 in Morgantown, WV. He is survived by a son, Ronald Rowan (Catherine) of Fairmont; two daughters, Joyce Mitchell (Donald) of Fairmont and Janice Knotts (Ernie) of Independence; five grandchildren: Tonya Wilson (Chris) of Morgantown, Ronald Rowan, Jr. (Shelley) of Fairmont, Jeremy Rowan (Amy) of Fairmont, Nathan Knotts (Shannon) of Independence, and Amber Wagner (Chris) of Reedsville; and 10 great-grandchildren: Shelby, Cody, Jaynie, Addysen, Makayla, Hunter, Lukas, Patience, Autumn, and Mason. Also surviving are two sisters, Gladys Morris and Evelyn Lemasters of Morgantown; two brothers, Gene Rowan of Fairmont and Jim Rowan of Shelton, NC; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jocelyn King Rowan; three sisters, Thelma Mitchell, Louise Brown, and Vernie Menear; and four brothers: Arlen, Godfrey, Kenneth, and Bussy Rowan. Raymond enjoyed spending time with his family, going to the local flea markets, and the outdoors. A special appreciation to Mike King and family for years of kindness and support. The family extends a special "thank you" to all the staff at Mon General Hospital, Hospice Care Corporation and Health South.
