Raymond Alex Petsko

June 28, 1944 — April 12, 2010

Raymond Alex Petsko, 65 of Morgantown passed away Monday April 12, 2010 at his home on Aarons Creek Rd. with his family by his side. He was born June 28, 1944 in Maidsville, WV son of the late Alex Petsko, Jr. and Helen Smyth Petsko. Raymond was a graduate of University High School Class of 1962 where he played the trumpet in the band. One highlight of his high school band career was playing for the Baltimore Colts. Raymond was also a veteran of the United States Air Force serving from 1964 to 1968. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to snow ski, walking and golf. He was a member of the Royal Oaks Golf Association. He also was quite the poker player and was an enthusiast of classic car shows. Raymond had many other hobbies and interests but the biggest joy of his life was his grandchildren. Raymond is survived by his loving wife Susan Kelly Petsko; two sons Christopher Petsko and wife Michelle and their children Megan, Emily and Alex all of Winchester, VA; Geoffrey Petsko and wife Jocelyn and their children Colin and Aidan all of Morgantown; two brothers, William Petsko and wife Susan and Donald Petsko all of Maidsville. In addition to his parents Raymond was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Eugene Petsko. Friends will be received at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home, Thursday April 15, 2010 from 3-5 and 7-9pm and again on Friday from 10am until time of services at 11am with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at the East Oak Grove Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by Westover VFW Post 9916 and WVANG Camp Dawson. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Morgantown Hospice P.O. Box 4222 Morgantown, WV 26504 The family wishes to extend special thanks to the Oncology staff unit of the Monongalia General Hospital; Kathy, Angela, Henrietta, Trish, Dottie, Dr. Beall and Jean.
