Ray Junior Casteel

Ray Junior Casteel, 89, of Morgantown, WV, formerly of Cheat Lake, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015, at Mapleshire Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family and devoted caregivers. The son of Lewis Ray and Barbara Eye Casteel, he was born January 21, 1926, in Morgantown. Ray was a United States Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Star City Christian Assembly and former member of the Assembly of God in Holly Hill, FL and a life member of Westover VFW post 9916. Ray is survived by his daughter and her husband, Paula and David Williams; a son and his wife, Steve and Sandra Casteel; two grandsons, Mark Allen Casteel, MD and his wife, Kristin, and Mike Casteel and his wife, Ariel; a granddaughter, Karissa Raye Golden Loring; and eight great-grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. Also surviving are two beloved sisters, Margaret Casteel DeWitt and Barbara Casteel Viljak and a step-grandson, Aaron Williams and family. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Brown Casteel, in 1990. A graveside service with full military honors will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. at Fletcher Cemetery, Morgan Run Road, Morgantown, WV. Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
