Percy Allen Shoemaker

Percy Allen Shoemaker, 70 of Morgantown passed away in his home after a battle with cancer. He was born March 2, 1940 in Fairmont, WV a son to the late Loyal A. and Gertrude Furman Shoemaker. He loved hunting with his brother-in-law Ervin Miller, as well as fishing and camping with his family at Big Bear Lake. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 5 years Carolyn Sue Shoemaker; two sons Percy A. Junior' Shoemaker and his wife Debbie of Morgantown, and Michael D. Shoemaker and wife Deanne of Fairmont; two daughters Pamela Mae Smith and husband Robert of Core, and Yvonne Marie Shinkovich and husband Timothy of Fairmont; a step daughter Shaundra Bissett; a step-son Tom Davidson; four brothers Loyal Shoemaker, John Shoemaker both of Crown, WV, William Shoemaker of South Carolina, and David Shoemaker of Arizona; and seven sisters Neda Glover of Fairmont, Cindy Miller, Susan Shepard, Krista Shoemaker all of Florida, Donna West of Grafton, Nancy Morgan of Arizona, and Valerie Sigley of Fairmont. Percy is also survived by 12 grandchildren Sarabeth Shoemaker, Lauren Shoemaker, Nathan Shoemaker, Desiree' Pedroso, Codey Smith, Corey Smith, Candice Lipscomb, Jeremy Lipscomb, Courtney Wolfe, Brandon Shoemaker, Zachary Shoemaker, and Hope Shoemaker; three great grandchildren Parker Martin, Hayden Bolton, and Tristan Bolton; and three step-grandchildren Riley Bissett, Colton Davidson, and Alex Davidson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years Carol Jean Shoemaker, and a sister June Forinash. Friends will be received at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Tuesday September 14, 2010 from 6-8pm and again on Wednesday from 10am until time of services at 11am with Pastor Rick Croyle officiating. Burial will follow at Arnettsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home 10 S. High St. Morgantown, WV 26501 to help offset funeral expenses.
