Penny Sue Harwood

Penny Sue Conner Harwood, age 68, of Morgantown passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Grover and Rosemarie Clark Conner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Tammy Conner and Mary Hunt; brothers, Clifford Corob and Edward Conner.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son; Joshua Harwood; daughter, Shauna Sanders; brothers, Leroy (Susan) Conner, Donald Conner, and Ronald Conner; sisters, Donna (Richard) McBee, Sherry (Skip) Poling, and Samantha Conner; as well as her beloved grandchildren, Joshua “Little Josh” Harwood Jr., and Lonnie, Caleb, and Alex Sanders. Also surviving is her best friend of over 50 years, Pastor Gwen McKinley.

The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Morgantown Health and Rehabilitation for the exceptional care they provided during Penny’s stay.

Penny was a member of the Jesus Mission Church for 53 years. She held the office of Assistant Young People’s Choir Director until moving to Texas. Upon her return to Morgantown, she had been married and welcomed her two children into the world. She then came back to the church as an active member, helping wherever she was needed. Penny became a Sunday School Teacher, Trustee Board Member, Ladies Auxiliary President, and Treasurer. Though she now rests peacefully with the Lord, she will be greatly missed.

Honoring her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home. A memorial service and interment will be held on July 23, 2023 at 10 AM at the Jesus Mission Church in Osage with Pastor Gwen McKinley officiating.
