Pearl Shumiloff, 85, of Booth, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. Pearl was born April 26, 1935, at home, one of six children to Charles and Mildred Casper Shumiloff.
Pearl retired from American Dry Cleaners with more than 45 years of service. Although Pearl didn’t have any children of her own, she was very proud of her many nieces and nephews. She would shuttle them to games, practices, parties, school events, and even take them shopping. She loved her family more than anything, and she showed it by always being there. She loved crafts, embroidery, and paint by number.
Her siblings could tell story after story of how Pearl cared for them as children. The many acts of kindness they experienced firsthand would only be outnumbered by the stories they did not know. She was loyal, kind, generous, and thrifty when she needed to be. She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed.
Pearl is survived by two sisters, Barbara Sopuch, of Booth, Anna Graham of Vidor, TX; her two brothers, Tom Shumiloff and wife Jeanette of Booth, and Charles ‘Junior’ Shumiloff of Morgantown; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. She had many Godchildren and was Aunt Pearl to everyone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles, and Mildred Shumiloff, one brother Richard, infant brother Charles, brother-in-law Charles Graham and sister-in-law, Belva Shumiloff.
Visitation will be held at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Sunday, March 21, 2021, from 3 pm until 7 pm and again on Monday from 10 am until the time of services at 11 am, with Bishop Bill Page officiating. She will be laid to rest at the East Oak Grove Cemetery.
