Paul Franklin Croston

Beloved husband and caring father, Paul Franklin Croston, 74, of Scotts Run, Morgantown, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017 at Ruby Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. Paul was born Feb. 7, 1943 in Shriver, WV son to the late Frank R. and Violet Mollisee Croston.

Paul graduated from University High School in 1962 and then worked as a Supervisor at the Sterling Faucet Co. with 15 years of service. After the closing of Sterling Faucet, Paul began his career with the Monongalia County Board of Education, first as a substitute custodian at the VoTech and later full time in the County school system. He retired from Morgantown High School in 2011 with nearly 30 years of service to the schools of Monongalia County. During his employment, Paul served as the President of School Service Personnel. A job which and title which he took very seriously.

Paul was an avid sports fan and enjoyed the Pirates, Steelers and Mountaineers. He loved time outdoors, fishing on Dunkard Creek and was a member of the Mountaineer Golf Course.

Paul loved to share the Gospel of his Lord and Savior with those around him. One point in his early Christian life he pastored a church in Taylortown, PA.

Paul cared for others and will be missed by so many. He was currently attending the Mt. Morris Gospel Tabernacle.

Paul is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 52 years, Mrs. Priscilla Shine Croston; daughter Diana Lofstead of Wake Forest, NC; son-in-law, Chris Lofstead, of Morgantown; two sons, Paul David Croston and wife Stacy of Morgantown and CPT Gary Croston and wife Kari of Dover, N.J.; grandchildren, who were the joy of Paul’s life, Kylie and Spencer Croston and Hunter and Evan Lofstead.

Also surviving is his special brother, James Croston of Franklin, TX and two special nieces Elena and Hannah Dugan and many other nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 4 until 8pm and again on Friday from noon until time of services at 1pm with Pastor John Jackson officiating. Cremation will follow and private inurnment will be held at a later date.
