Patty Darlene Hollis

Patty D. Hollis, 68, of Morgantown, WV, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015, surrounded by her loving family at Monongalia General Hospital. The daughter of the late Casey Ward and Leota Faulknier Burch, she was born October 21, 1946, in Morgantown, WV. Patty was very loved by her family. She loved to decorate her home for all holiday season and see all the enjoyment she brought to Morgantown. Everybody knows her by the Christmas lady in Marion Meadows. Through her decorations Patty was able to collect donations for Morgantown Hospice Care. Patty was a babysitter for 42 years and has helped raised many children over the years. She is survived by two sons, Tom Hollis and David F. Hollis and wife, Teresa, both of Morgantown; a niece whom she considered her daughter, Tina Buchanan and husband, Rob; five grandchildren whom she loved and cherished: Gary and Will Hollis, Kayla Hollis, and Meghan and Cassie Buchanan; a sister, Judy Morris of CA; a brother, Donald Ward, of NY; a cousin who she talked to every day, Dixie Sapp of Fairmont; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David E. Hollis, Sr. on March 20, 2014; step father, William Burch; sister, Joyce Sue Haun; an infant sister, Tina Burch; and a brother-in-law, John Morris. Cremation services were provided by Fred L.
