Patricia Lynn Horstman

Patricia (Patti) Lynn Horstman, 61, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2019, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Patti was born in Butler, PA on August 15, 1958, the daughter of the late Nancy E. (Kaib) and Edward C. Horstman.

She is survived by a daughter Sofia Horstman of Morgantown; one brother Bruce E. (Janet) Horstman of Butler, PA; two sisters Kathleen L. (David) Balkey of Yardley, PA, JoAnn (Shane) Albertson of Oak Grove, MN; grandson Sekai Horstman; three nieces Jessica (Kirby) Ritenour, Jillian (Josh) Cihos, Ellen Balkey; three nephews Raymond Balkey, Joshua (Rachel) Horstman, Seth Albertson; three great-nieces Abigail Ritenour, Makaylah and Serena Horstman; two great-nephews Kyle Ritenour, Jaxon Cihos; and several dear friends who were like sisters to Patti: Karen Cassidy, Vicki Chase, Andrea Ferretti, Janice Manilla, Mary Kay McQuain, Martha Power, Mary Lynne Withrow, and Donna Mayfield.

She was a 1976 graduate of Butler Senior High School, Butler, PA; a 1983 graduate of West Virginia Northern Community College School of Nursing with an Associate Degree, Nursing; a 1986 graduate of West Virginia University School of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science, Nursing; and a 1992 graduate of West Virginia University School of Nursing with a Master of Science, Nursing. She was certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Nurse Executive-Advanced and retired from West Virginia University Medicine after 31 years of service as a Registered Nurse and hospital administrator.

An avid quilter in her spare time, she created quilts for her family and friends.

To honor Patti’s wishes, cremation has been arranged by Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home.

Family and friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Thursday, December 19, 2019, from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm.
