Norma Maxine' Davis, 77 of Morgantown formerly of North Grosvenordale, CT went home to be with her Lord on Monday November 15, 2010 with her loving husband of 57 years by her side. She was born October 28, 1933 in Cassville, WV a daughter of the late Henry and Pearl Trout. She was a graduate of University High School class of 1951. On July 11, 1953 she married her childhood sweetheart, Virgil Davis. She was employed as a seamstress at the Morgan Shirt Factory in Morgantown until she moved to North Grosvenordale, CT in 1963. Maxine was an active member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Grosvenordale and felt that the parishioners there were more than friends; they were part of her extended family. She was a volunteer at the church as well as the Tourtellotte Memorial Elementary school library. Maxine was a loving, kind hearted person who always greeted you with a warm smile and open arms. Her family and extended family meant the world to her and she always made everyone feel welcome and at home. In addition to being survived by her husband Virgil, she was blessed with one daughter Alicia Davis along with her partner Kate Houlihan of Bristol, CT. Kate's daughter Shannon also held a special place in her heart. Also surviving is one brother, William Trout of Westover, WV; two brothers-in-law John Stevens of Morgantown and Mr. Dudley and May Davis of Ohio; two sisters-in-law Betty Eddy and husband Mark and Dawn Marie Morgan and husband Paul; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by Rev. Loran and Juanita Davis; three sisters, Eleanor Simpson Brinegar, Doris Stevens and Virginia Rose Trout; one brother Warren Bud Trout and nephew Roger Eddy. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Wednesday November 17, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8pm and again on Thursday from 10am until time of services at 11am with Rev. Richard Work officiating. Burial will follow at the Simpson Cemetery, Simpson, WV. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Maxine's Memory to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Grosvenordale P.O.
