Nancy Jean Snyder

Nancy Jean Snyder, 74, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on December 22, 1948, a daughter of the late Otha and Imogene Brotherton.

She worked as a teacher’s aide at Cheat Lake Elementary. Her radiant love was felt by everyone who knew her.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 53 years, Dale Snyder of Morgantown; two daughters Apryl Helmick (Dave) of Painesville, OH, Jeanna Snyder of Seattle, WA; and three granddaughters Elise Harrell (Josh) of Edgewood, KY, Morgan and Avery Helmick of Painesville, OH. She is also survived by her sister Sue Matthews (Charlie) of Dilliner, PA; and brother Roger Brotherton (Brenda) of Maidsville, WV.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers Don and John Brotherton.

The family would like to give special thanks to Amedisys Hospice for the wonderful care they provided during this difficult time.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Monday, October 16, 2023, from 5 pm – 7 pm, and again on Tuesday from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11 am with Pastor Lonny Ferreiro officiating. Following the service, Nancy will be laid to rest at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
